6TH PRINCIPLE
Critical Account of Two Years of the Pandemic
By Coalition For Health Access Equity
The two-year journey of the pandemic in Indonesia has told many sad stories experienced by the community. Hundreds of thousands of us have been left behind by loved ones. Most of us are surviving amidst difficult conditions economically and socially, especially the threat of Covid-19. Only the government has the authority to be present, help and protect society in crisis situations. However, the reality is actually different.
During the storm of the Covid-19 pandemic, LaporCovid-19 together with ICW, YLBHI, LBH Jakarta, Lokataru and Transparency International Indonesia (TII), and many institutions active in the Coalition for Access to Health Justice were present to accommodate, continue, and advocate for the complaints and injustices experienced by many citizens. These stories include the difficulty of finding a hospital, hospital fees being charged, social assistance being corrupted, criminalization of human rights defender activists and various other problems.
This event invites the audience to visit a miniature hospital bed atmosphere one year ago, read the people's voices broadcast via the LaporCovid-19 resident chatbot channel, imagine the pain of social assistance funds which were actually corrupted by the Minister, see traces of the strong voice of entrepreneurs, and remember the health workers who risked their lives for the lives of others.
